Each page has a very basic picture and vocabulary words students may very likely use in their writing. I believe the picture should be simple so students can use their creativity while writing. Students can use the printables for different types: narrative, informative, and opinion writing. My favorite part of these printables is the student checklist reminder at the bottom of the paper. I have also included a basic sight word list to post in your writing center to assist with those tricky words.
I believe students should be given choices as often as possible. To organize, I mount one on a file folder, tape the sides, laminate, and put copies in the folder for them to easily choose. With so many choices, this writing center will be engaging for months!

My students went from writing a single sentence to writing stories with this amazing resource! The word bank, visuals and checklist were the tools my students needed to become more confident in their writing. WE LOVED this resource and have purchased the other seasonal files.

To say that there was excitement in the room when I introduced these resources would be a huge understatement. We started with the dog and cat writing which they loved. Even my strugglers were writing! The word bank is fantastic and the fact that they got to draw and color after they wrote was a win! I had groans when I said that we finished with centers. Most had not gotten to the picture because they were working on the words. That has never happened! The winter scene is another huge hit!
