A perfect literacy craft to celebrate Earth Day or Thanksgiving!
What are you thankful for? Your students will make a beautiful layered book simply stating thankfulness for the Earth’s gifts. My students love to make these books as an engaging extension after we have read books and discussed things we are most grateful for in our lives. I have had several parents and students say it is one of their “keepsakes” of the school year! Students can also write thankful thoughts or a poem to attach to the back of their book.
Text on each page:
I am Thankful for…
the good earth
the green grass
the tall trees
the clear, cool lakes and rivers
the high mountains
the warm sun
the blue sky and clean air
Included are copy templates, complete directions for making, literature suggestion, and completed project photos.
