Description
Blending is the primary decoding strategy that must be modeled and applied frequently to build word fluency. Research shows that students who are learning to read need explicit phonics skills instruction and plenty of practice blending words in isolation and in context to achieve the greatest gains.
These Fluency Builders follow a strategic scope and sequence with review words, focused skill, and challenge words. In addition, each printable contains two sentences to provide connected text reading practice.
The printable worksheets are perfect to use as a daily warm-up for whole/small groups, assessments, and can even be sent home for strategic practice.
