This resource was so engaging! I love that there is both a printable and digital version and the sentences are decodable. This has been amazing practice.

My students loved doing this activity. Not only has it helping to improve their fine motor and cutting skills they are so proud of themselves for reading! Lots of ways to differentiate too!

While the activity is great, and my kindergarteners were able to read the CVC sentences on their own, I was a bit disappointed with the pictures that went along with the sentence. It was difficult for even ME to figure out which sentence should go with some of the pictures. For example, “Ten men in a jet” was matched with a fancy numeral 10 that looked like an oval egg not really a zero. No jet or men! Very confusing and I found myself having to help the students more with this center than needed, not because of reading but because many of the pictures didn’t really match the sentences.

This resource covers so many needs. It is a great way to practice or review skills your are teaching. I use it for independent practice and in small group for a quick assessment to see how individual students are able to read each sentence and make sense of what was read. Invaluable!
